Description
A 36-inch wide, 3-light island light from the Bridal Veil Collection, finished in satin gold with mercury glass bell shades, for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Ballston Bridal Veil island light brings an artisanal touch to your home with its hand-blown mercury glass shades, each one unique. The sleek satin gold frame and cast brass details blend seamlessly with Art Nouveau, industrial, and restoration-vintage styles, making it a versatile centerpiece for a variety of décors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter for task and ambient light
- Dining rooms over a table, providing warm, inviting illumination for meals
- Open-concept living areas where a statement fixture is needed
- Homes with sloped ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivels
- Spaces that appreciate handcrafted, unique glass shades
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for damp locations only, not wet locations
- Low ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 16.25 inches
- Those seeking a modern minimalist look, as the design is more ornate
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 100W bulb, so with three bulbs you can achieve up to 300W total. For reference, a 60W incandescent bulb produces about 800 lumens, so this fixture can easily light a kitchen island or dining table brightly. The actual brightness depends on the bulbs you choose.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the light level and mood. The mercury glass shades diffuse light softly, creating a warm, ambient glow. For a vintage feel, use ST64 bulbs with a color temperature around 2200K-2700K, which emit a warm, golden light that flatters wood and brass finishes.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 36 inches wide, 5 inches deep, and 9.5 inches high. It includes two 6-inch and four 12-inch stems for a total hanging length of 30 inches, with a minimum height of 16.25 inches and maximum of 40.25 inches. The rectangular canopy is 6 inches wide, and the fixture weighs 10 lbs. It is sloped ceiling adaptable.
