Description
A 5-inch semi-flush mount ceiling light with a seedy glass bell shade, finished in polished nickel - ideal for hallways, bedrooms, and other spaces with lower ceilings.
The Ballston from Innovations Lighting brings an artisanal touch to any room. Its hand-blown seedy glass shade creates a unique, vintage-inspired look, while the polished nickel finish and cast brass details add a refined, industrial elegance. This fixture fits seamlessly into a variety of decor styles, from art nouveau to restoration-vintage.
Best for
- Hallways and entryways with 8-foot ceilings, providing ambient light without taking up visual space
- Bedrooms, mounted above a nightstand or dresser for a soft, warm glow
- Dining rooms with low ceilings, as a space-saving alternative to a chandelier
- Covered porches or sunrooms, thanks to its damp-rated construction
- Bathrooms with a vanity, as a stylish and functional light source
Not ideal for
- Large open rooms or areas needing bright, task-oriented lighting - this fixture is best for ambient or accent light
- Sloped ceilings, as it is not sloped ceiling adaptable
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain or moisture, despite its damp rating
How bright is it?
This fixture uses one 100-watt incandescent bulb (not included) and is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit your mood. The actual lumen output depends on the bulb you choose; for reference, a 100W incandescent bulb produces about 1600 lumens, similar to a bright living room light.
Light color and feel
The light color is determined by the bulb you select. For a warm, cozy ambiance, choose a bulb with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K. The seedy glass shade diffuses light softly, creating a gentle, flattering glow that enhances warm wood tones and metallic finishes.
Sizing and fit
With overall dimensions of 5 inches wide by 10.25 inches high, this semi-flush mount is compact and perfect for spaces with standard 8-foot ceilings. The round canopy measures 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture extends only 10.25 inches from the ceiling, making it a great choice for hallways and rooms with limited clearance.
