Description
A 5-inch bell-shaped wall sconce with a hand-blown princess blue glass shade, finished in black antique brass, for bedrooms and hallways.
The Ballston sconce brings an artisanal touch to any room. Its hand-blown glass shade is unique to each piece, and the black antique brass finish adds a vintage-industrial feel. This fixture works well with a variety of décor styles, from Art Nouveau to industrial loft.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted beside the bed as a reading light or above a nightstand
- Hallways, placed at intervals to create a warm, inviting path
- Living rooms, flanking a fireplace or media console
- Dining rooms, used as accent lighting on a feature wall
- Entryways, mounted above a console table for a welcoming glow
Not ideal for
- Spaces with very low ceilings, as the sconce extends 6.75 inches from the wall
- Areas where a brighter, primary light source is needed, as this is an accent fixture
- Outdoor locations, as it is rated for damp locations only, not wet locations
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but it accepts a 100W incandescent bulb (not included), which typically produces around 1600 lumens - bright enough for accent lighting or a small room. For a softer glow, use a lower-wattage LED bulb.
Light color and feel
The color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, select a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The princess blue glass shade will diffuse the light, creating a soft, colored glow that adds character to the room. This fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit your mood.
Sizing and fit
The sconce measures 5 inches wide, 6.75 inches deep, and 10 inches high. It extends 6.75 inches from the wall, so ensure there is adequate clearance. The backplate is 4.5 inches wide and 6 inches high. This size works well in bedrooms, hallways, and other medium-sized spaces.
