Description
A 5-inch bell-shaped wall sconce from the Bridal Veil Collection, finished in brushed brass with a mercury glass shade, ideal for bedrooms, hallways, and powder rooms.
The Ballston sconce brings an artisanal touch to any space with its hand-blown glass shade and sleek cast brass backplate. The mercury glass finish adds a vintage, reflective quality that pairs beautifully with the warm brushed brass frame. This fixture fits seamlessly into Art Nouveau, industrial, and restoration-vintage interiors.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted as a reading light beside the bed or above a nightstand
- Hallways and corridors, providing ambient accent lighting
- Powder rooms and bathrooms, thanks to its damp-rated construction
- Living rooms, flanking a fireplace or artwork for a symmetrical look
- Entryways, adding a warm welcome with its vintage-inspired glow
Not ideal for
- Outdoor areas exposed to rain or direct water spray - this sconce is rated for damp locations only
- Spaces with very low ceilings if you prefer a flush mount - this fixture extends 6.75 inches from the wall
- Those seeking a bright, task-oriented light - it's designed for accent and ambient illumination
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce can produce up to about 1600 lumens, similar to a traditional 100W bulb. However, for accent lighting, a 60W equivalent (around 800 lumens) is often sufficient. The actual brightness depends on the bulb you choose.
Light color and feel
The mercury glass shade diffuses light softly, creating a warm, ambient glow. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood from bright and lively to soft and intimate. For a classic look, pair it with an ST64 Edison bulb (sold separately) to enhance the vintage aesthetic.
Sizing and fit
The sconce measures 5 inches wide, 6.75 inches deep, and 10 inches high, with a 6.75-inch extension from the wall. The rectangular backplate is 4.5 inches wide and 6 inches high. It's well-suited for standard 8-foot ceilings and works in rooms of any size as an accent light.
