The Boreas offers sleek style with customizable flair, as it can be fitted with any glass or metal shade from the Franklin collection. This fixture features a heavy cast backplate and swiveling sockets for easy bulb changes. The matte black finish and deco swirl glass create a modern, art deco aesthetic that complements contemporary interiors.
Best for
- Bathrooms with a 60-72 in double vanity, mounted horizontally above the mirror
- Powder rooms and guest bathrooms with a modern or art deco style
- Hallways and entryways as a decorative light source
- Dressing rooms and walk-in closets with adequate wall space
- Damp-rated, so it can be used in bathrooms with moderate humidity
Not ideal for
- Outdoor areas without cover - damp-rated but not wet-rated
- Spaces needing bright, cool light - this fixture is compatible with various bulb types, but the included bulbs are not provided
- Very small powder rooms under 20 sq ft, as the 51-inch width may overwhelm
How bright is it?
Brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. The fixture is compatible with incandescent, LED, fluorescent, and halogen bulbs (sold separately). For reference, four 60W incandescent bulbs would produce about 3200 lumens, suitable for a large bathroom.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you select. For a warm, cozy feel, choose 2700K-3000K LED bulbs; for a cooler, more energizing light, choose 4000K-5000K. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust brightness with a compatible dimmer switch.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 50.75 inches wide, 4.5 inches high, and extends 4 inches from the wall. The backplate is 52 inches wide and 4.5 inches high. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, offering flexibility for your space.
