Description
A 5-inch wide, 1-light wall sconce from the Boreas Collection, finished in satin gold with a white glass shade - ideal for bedrooms, hallways, and living spaces that need a sleek, contemporary accent light.
The Boreas sconce offers the sleek style of the Ballston with the ability to add a little flair. It can be fitted with any of the glass or metal shades from the Franklin collection to create a custom fixture that fits your needs. The satin gold finish and white glass shade give it a modern, art deco feel that complements contemporary decor.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted beside the bed as a reading light with the swivel arm angled toward the pillow
- Hallways and corridors, spaced evenly to provide a warm glow along the wall
- Living rooms, flanking a sofa or console table for ambient accent lighting
- Entryways, adding a welcoming touch above a bench or table
- Home offices, providing focused task lighting over a desk
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is rated for damp locations, not wet locations
- Outdoor areas without protection from rain or moisture
- Spaces where you need a primary light source - this is an accent fixture, not a main room light
How bright is it?
This sconce accepts one 100W incandescent bulb (not included) and is dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit your mood. With a standard 100W bulb, you can expect around 1600 lumens - bright enough for task lighting or a well-lit accent. If you prefer softer light, use a lower-wattage LED or dimmer switch.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, use a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The satin gold finish and white glass shade will cast a warm, inviting glow that complements contemporary and art deco decor. Since it's dimmable, you can easily create a relaxing ambiance.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 4.5 inches wide, 4 inches deep (extension), and 10.75 inches high. It projects 4 inches from the wall, so it's a great choice for tight spaces. The backplate is 4.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches high, covering a standard junction box.
