Description
A contemporary 1-light wall sconce from the Boreas collection, finished in oil rubbed bronze with a striped clear glass shade, ideal for bedrooms and hallways.
The Boreas sconce combines sleek, contemporary lines with Art Deco flair. Its heavy cast brass backplate and steel construction give it a substantial feel, while the cylindrical striped clear glass shade adds visual interest and diffuses light beautifully. This fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted as a reading light beside the bed
- Hallways, providing ambient accent lighting
- Bathrooms, thanks to its damp-rated construction
- Living rooms, flanking a fireplace or artwork
- Entryways, adding a warm welcome
Not ideal for
- Spaces with low ceilings, as the sconce extends 4 inches from the wall
- Areas requiring bright task lighting, as this is an accent fixture
- Outdoor locations exposed to direct rain, despite damp rating
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but it accepts a 100W incandescent bulb (not included), which typically produces around 1600 lumens - bright enough for accent or ambient lighting, but not as a primary room light.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, use a 2700K-3000K bulb. The striped clear glass shade adds a subtle pattern to the light, creating a soft, inviting glow.
Sizing and fit
The sconce measures 4 inches wide, 4.5 inches deep, and 10.75 inches high, with a 4-inch extension from the wall. It fits well in rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings and can be mounted vertically.
