Description
A single-light wall sconce in brushed brass with a striped white glass shade, perfect for bedrooms and hallways that need a touch of art deco elegance.
The Boreas sconce combines the sleek silhouette of the Ballston with the customizable flair of the Franklin collection. The cylinder-shaped glass shade in striped white adds visual interest, while the brushed brass finish and heavy cast backplate provide durability. This sconce is ADA compliant and damp-rated, making it versatile for many spaces.
Best for
- Bedrooms flanking a bed as reading sconces, mounted 60-66 in above the floor
- Hallways and corridors, providing ambient accent light at eye level
- Living rooms or studies, adding art deco character to a feature wall
- Bathrooms with ventilation, as it is damp-rated
Not ideal for
- Large rooms needing primary illumination, as a single 100W sconce provides accent light only
- Spaces with very narrow walls, as the backplate is 4.5 inches wide
- Outdoor uncovered areas, as it is rated for damp locations only
How bright is it?
With a single 100W bulb (not included), this sconce can produce up to 1600 lumens - enough for accent lighting or a reading nook, but not as a primary room light. LED equivalents can provide similar brightness with less energy.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy glow, select a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The striped white glass shade diffuses light softly, creating a gentle ambiance.
Sizing and fit
The sconce measures 4 inches wide, 4.5 inches deep, and 10.75 inches high, with a 4-inch extension from the wall. The backplate is 4.5 inches wide by 9.5 inches high. Ideal for walls with at least 12 inches of clearance.
