Description
A 1-light wall sconce from the Boreas collection, finished in satin nickel with a seedy glass cylinder shade, designed for bathrooms and hallways.
The Boreas sconce combines the sleek silhouette of the Ballston with the ability to customize with glass or metal shades from the Franklin collection. Its contemporary, Art Deco-inspired design features a heavy cast backplate and a seedy glass cylinder that adds a vintage, textured look while diffusing light. Ideal for adding a touch of modern elegance to any space.
Best for
- Bathrooms with a single or double vanity, mounted on either side of the mirror for task lighting
- Hallways and corridors, spaced evenly to provide ambient light
- Bedrooms as a reading light beside the bed
- Entryways and foyers, flanking a console table or artwork
- Powder rooms, adding a decorative accent
Not ideal for
- Outdoor areas exposed to rain or direct water spray - this fixture is rated for damp locations, not wet locations
- Spaces where you need a primary light source - this sconce is designed for accent or task lighting
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but it accepts one 100W incandescent bulb (not included), which typically produces around 1600 lumens - bright enough for task lighting in a bathroom or hallway, but not as a primary room light.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, inviting glow, choose a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The seedy glass shade diffuses light, creating a soft, warm glow with a vintage feel.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 4 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 13.75 inches high, with a 4-inch extension from the wall. It fits well in bathrooms, hallways, and bedrooms with standard 8-foot ceilings.
