Brightness depends on the bulb you choose. The sconce accepts one medium base (E26) bulb up to 60W (or LED equivalent). Using a 60W incandescent equivalent LED bulb (about 800 lumens) provides ample light for reading and tasks. For a softer glow, choose a 40W equivalent (450 lumens). Bulb not included.
