Description
A 36-inch plug-in picture light with five bulbs, designed to illuminate large artwork in living rooms, galleries, and home offices.
The Traditional series from House of Troy brings museum-quality lighting to your home with a classic bronze finish and a slim metal shade that directs light evenly across the canvas. The telescoping arm extends from 5 to 7 inches, letting you position the light exactly where it's needed, while the in-line hi-lo switch on the cord offers easy control.
Best for
- Living rooms and dens with large paintings or prints 30-36 inches wide
- Home galleries and hallways displaying a series of artworks
- Offices and studies where accent lighting enhances the room's character
- Above a fireplace mantel or console table with a statement piece
Not ideal for
- Very small artworks under 24 inches wide - the 36-inch shade may overpower them
- Spaces without a nearby outlet, as this is a plug-in fixture with a 2-prong cord
- Areas requiring wet or damp location ratings - this fixture is for dry indoor use only
How bright is it?
With five 25W or 40W T10 incandescent bulbs (not included), this light provides ample illumination for accenting artwork. Using 40W bulbs, expect a warm, focused glow that highlights texture and color without washing out the piece.
Light color and feel
Incandescent bulbs emit a warm, continuous spectrum (around 2700K) that flatters oil paintings, photographs, and prints. The hi-lo switch lets you adjust brightness for daytime or evening viewing.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 36 inches wide, 5 inches deep (extendable to 7 inches), and 2.25 inches high. It's ideal for artwork 30-36 inches wide and rooms with ceilings 8 feet or higher. The plug-in cord with in-line switch is 3 feet from the plug.
