Description
A 21-inch plug-in picture light in statuary bronze, built to wash a wide canvas or a row of framed art in warm, adjustable light.
From House of Troy's Classic Traditional collection, this picture light pairs a slim 21-inch metal shade with a deep statuary bronze finish that recedes against dark frames and wood paneling. The arm telescopes from 5 to 7 inches so the shade sits the right distance off the wall, and the in-line hi-lo switch lets you soften the light for evening viewing.
Best for
- Living rooms and hallways with artwork 24 to 40 inches wide
- Traditional and library-style rooms with wood paneling and dark frames
- Home galleries and stairwell walls lined with framed pieces
- Renters without in-wall wiring - it plugs into a standard outlet
Not ideal for
- Oversized murals - a 21-inch shade covers a moderate width, not a full wall
- Spaces where a visible cord is unacceptable; the 2-prong cord and switch sit 3 ft from the plug
- Anyone expecting bulbs in the box - they are not included
How bright is it?
Three sockets rated for 25W or 40W T10 incandescent bulbs. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer and depends on the bulbs chosen; with three 40W bulbs expect a focused accent wash rather than room-filling light.
Light color and feel
Color temperature follows your bulbs - warm white bulbs complement the bronze finish and wood frames, while a cooler bulb reads cleaner against black-and-white photography. The in-line hi-lo switch gives a softer level for evening viewing.
Sizing and fit
Overall 21 in wide x 2.25 in high, with a 5 to 7 in extension and a 21 in shade. Weighs 4 lbs. Best on walls with roughly 12 to 24 in of clearance above the frame.
