House of Troy Traditional 21in 3-Light Picture Light | Pewter Metal Shade | Living Room & Gallery Art | 21 in Shade, 5-7 in | Model T21-31-CA

A 21-inch plug-in picture light in pewter, designed to cast even, adjustable light across large paintings, prints, and gallery walls.

The Traditional series from House of Troy is the picture light that disappears into the frame and lets the art do the talking. The pewter finish is a soft, warm gray metal tone that reads as quietly traditional, pairing easily with dark wood frames, oil paintings, and neutral wall colors. A three-bulb design spreads light evenly across the full 21-inch shade, and the in-line hi-lo switch lets you dial brightness up or down without a wall dimmer.

Best for

• Living rooms and dens with a large statement painting or a row of framed prints above a sofa or console
• Home galleries and hallways where several pieces hang at eye level and need consistent accent light
• Home offices and studies with a framed map, diploma, or photograph that deserves its own light
• Renters and anyone without in-wall wiring - this is a plug-in light with a 2-prong cord

Not ideal for

• Very small frames under about 16 inches wide - a 21-inch shade will overhang and look oversized
• Spaces where a visible cord is unacceptable - this is a plug-in model, not hardwired
• Rooms where you need a primary light source - this is an accent light for artwork, not room lighting

How bright is it?

Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. The fixture takes three incandescent bulbs (25B10 or 40B10), so brightness depends on the bulbs you choose - 40W bulbs give a brighter, gallery-style wash, while 25W bulbs suit softer accent lighting.

Light color and feel

Color temperature depends on the bulbs installed; the fixture is not rated for a specific Kelvin. With standard incandescent bulbs you get a warm, familiar glow that flatters oil paintings, wood frames, and warm-toned walls. Bulbs are not included.

Sizing and fit

The shade is 21 inches wide, with an extension of 5 to 7 inches from the wall, so it clears most frame depths. Overall dimensions are 4 in W x 8 in D x 27 in H. The plug-in cord and in-line hi-lo switch make it easy to install without an electrician.

Frequently asked

Is the bulb included? No - the fixture takes three 25B10 or 40B10 incandescent bulbs, sold separately.

Is it dimmable, and what dimmer should I use? It uses an in-line hi-lo switch on the cord rather than a wall dimmer, so you get two brightness levels without any dimmer installation.

Can I install this in a bathroom or outdoors? No - this is an indoor plug-in picture light and is not rated for damp or wet locations.

What's the warranty? Warranty information is not specified by the manufacturer.

How does the pewter finish compare to bronze? Pewter is a lighter, cooler gray metal tone, while bronze is darker and warmer - pewter suits silver-toned frames and cool wall colors.
