Description
A 42-inch direct-wire picture light in satin nickel that illuminates large artwork, gallery walls, and statement pieces with warm, even light.
The Oxford collection brings classic museum-style lighting to your home. This 42-inch picture light features a metal shade in a sleek satin nickel finish that adds a clean, traditional look to living rooms, studies, and galleries. The direct-wire design means no cords to hide, and the wide shade covers large canvases or a row of smaller frames.
Best for
- Living rooms and galleries with large artwork 36 inches or wider
- Home offices or studies with a statement piece behind a desk
- Hallways or stairwells where artwork needs accent lighting
- Mantels or built-ins with a focal painting or print
Not ideal for
- Small frames under 24 inches wide - the 42-inch shade will overpower them
- Spaces without existing wiring for a direct-wire installation
- Rentals where hardwiring is not permitted
How bright is it?
Uses six 25W T10 bulbs (not included). Lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose; with standard 25W incandescent T10 bulbs, expect roughly 200 lumens per bulb, for a total of about 1,200 lumens - enough to highlight a large painting without washing it out.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, gallery-like glow that flatters oil paintings and wood frames, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs. The metal shade directs light downward and outward to reduce glare.
