Description
A 24-inch direct-wire picture light in mahogany bronze, designed to illuminate large artwork, portraits, and statement pieces in living rooms and galleries.
The Direct Wire Traditional picture light from House of Troy brings museum-quality lighting to your home without the clutter of cords. The mahogany bronze finish offers a rich, dark tone that blends with wood frames and traditional decor. The 24-inch metal shade directs light evenly across the canvas, and hardwired installation keeps the look clean and professional.
Best for
- Living rooms and home galleries with large paintings or prints 30 inches or wider
- Above a fireplace mantel or console table where artwork is a focal point
- Home offices or studies with framed maps, diplomas, or photography
- Museums, galleries, or retail spaces needing consistent accent lighting
Not ideal for
- Renters or anyone unable to run new electrical wiring behind the wall
- Small artworks under 20 inches wide - the 24-inch shade may overpower them
- Bathrooms or damp locations - this fixture is not rated for moisture exposure
How bright is it?
Uses three 25W or 40W T10 incandescent bulbs (not included). With 40W bulbs, expect roughly 1,200-1,500 lumens total - bright enough to highlight texture and color in artwork without washing it out. For softer accent light, use 25W bulbs.
Light color and feel
Incandescent bulbs provide a warm, continuous spectrum (around 2700K) that flatters oil paintings, wood tones, and bronze finishes. The light is dimmable when used with a compatible wall dimmer (not included), letting you adjust from bright task lighting to a subtle glow.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions: 24 in W x 9.25 in D x 4.5 in H. The backplate measures 4 in x 15 in and requires a standard electrical box. The 9.25-inch extension from the wall provides ample clearance for framed art. Best suited for rooms with ceilings 8 feet or higher.
