Description
A 36-inch direct-wire picture light that washes large artwork in warm, even light, finished in polished chrome.
The Slim-line series is House of Troy's answer to the question every art collector asks: how do I light a canvas without the fixture becoming the focal point? The low-profile metal shade stays visually quiet while six incandescent bulbs spread a smooth band of light across the surface. Chrome gives it a clean, contemporary edge that suits modern and transitional interiors.
Best for
- Living rooms and dens with large paintings or prints 30-40 inches wide
- Home galleries and hallways where a continuous run of art needs consistent illumination
- Offices and studies with a statement piece above a credenza or desk
- Direct-wire installations where you want a permanent, cord-free look
Not ideal for
- Rentals or spaces where you cannot run new wiring - this is a direct-wire fixture, not a plug-in
- Very small frames under 24 inches wide, where a 36-inch shade will overhang
- Rooms where you want adjustable spot lighting rather than a broad wash
How bright is it?
Six 15W T4 incandescent bulbs are included. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but this configuration is designed for accent lighting - enough to make colors in a painting read accurately without acting as a primary room light.
Light color and feel
Incandescent bulbs produce a warm, continuous spectrum that flatters oil, acrylic, and photography. Color temperature is not specified by the manufacturer. The fixture is not listed as dimmable in the source specs; if you need dimming, confirm with a licensed electrician before installing a dimmer.
Sizing and fit
The shade is 36 inches wide with an 8.5-inch extension from the wall and a 2.75 x 17.5-inch backplate. It suits canvases roughly 30-40 inches wide and rooms with at least 9-foot ceilings where the light can be mounted 6-8 inches above the frame. Weight is 9 lbs.
