Description
A 24-inch direct-wire picture light in satin brass, sized for wide canvases, large prints, and statement pieces.
The Slim-line series from House of Troy keeps a low, unobtrusive profile so the artwork leads. Satin brass is a soft, muted gold with a brushed rather than mirror-polished surface - warm enough for traditional rooms, clean enough for contemporary ones. Four bulbs spread light evenly across the full 24 in shade, which is the right width for larger pieces.
Best for
- Living rooms and dining rooms with art 36-48 in wide
- Home galleries and long hallway walls with large framed pieces
- Above a sideboard or console displaying a wide canvas or print
- Direct-wire installations where a hardwired wall connection is available
Not ideal for
- Walls without an existing electrical box - this is a direct-wire model, not a plug-in
- Small prints under about 24 in wide, where a 14 in shade is a better scale
- Rentals where hardwiring is not permitted
How bright is it?
Four 15T4 incandescent bulbs are included. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but this is accent lighting meant to illuminate artwork, not to light a room.
Light color and feel
Incandescent T4 bulbs give a warm, continuous glow that flatters oil, acrylic, and photographic prints. Color temperature and CRI are not specified by the manufacturer.
Sizing and fit
The shade measures 24 in wide with a 7.5 in extension from the wall, so it stands off far enough to clear a deep frame. The backplate is 2.75 x 4.5 in. Best suited to artwork roughly 36-48 in wide on standard 8-9 ft walls.
