House of Troy Direct Wire Contemporary 16in 2-Light Picture Light | Chrome Metal Shade | Living Room & Gallery Art Display | Model DC16-62

A 16-inch direct-wire picture light in chrome, made to wash even, glare-free light across framed art in living rooms, galleries, and studies.

Part of House of Troy's Classic Contemporary collection, this slim metal picture light mounts above a frame and directs light down onto the canvas rather than into the room. The chrome finish is bright and mirror-like, a crisp modern look that suits contemporary and industrial interiors, and the on-backplate switch keeps control at the artwork.

Best for

• Living rooms and home galleries lighting framed paintings 24-40 in wide
• Contemporary and industrial rooms where chrome ties into metal accents
• Studies and home offices with a single statement piece over a desk or credenza
• Direct-wire installations where a hardwired, switch-on-backplate light is preferred

Not ideal for

• Very large canvases over 40 in wide - the 16 in shade will not span the full width evenly
• Rentals or spots without existing wiring - this is a direct-wire model, not a plug-in
• Anyone wanting bulbs in the box - lamps are sold separately

How bright is it?

Takes two 40W T10 incandescent bulbs (25T10 also compatible). Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but two 40W lamps give a focused accent wash - enough to bring out color and texture in art, not enough to light a room on its own.

Light color and feel

Color temperature depends on the bulbs you choose; the fixture itself does not set a Kelvin value. Warm-white incandescent T10 lamps are the traditional pairing and flatter oil, acrylic, and photography. Dimmability is not specified by the manufacturer - check your bulb and wall control before assuming dimming.

Sizing and fit

Overall 16 in wide x 10 in deep x 4.5 in high, with a 4.5 x 4.5 in backplate. The 10 in extension projects the shade out over the frame, so it suits art hung on a flat wall with a few inches of clearance above. Works on standard 8-9 ft walls.
