House of Troy Contemporary 16in 2-Light Picture Light | Satin Nickel Metal Shade | Living Room & Gallery Art | 16 in Shade, 5-7 in | Model C16-52

A 16-inch plug-in picture light in satin nickel, made to wash artwork, portraits, and gallery walls in even, adjustable light.

The Contemporary series keeps the profile low and the look clean: a slim satin nickel shade that sits above the frame rather than competing with it. Because it plugs into a standard outlet with a 2-prong cord, you can light a picture wall without hiring an electrician or cutting into the wall. An in-line hi-lo switch on the cord lets you drop the output for a softer evening glow.

Best for

• Living rooms and hallways with a picture wall or a single large canvas that needs even top-down light
• Home galleries and stairwell art displays where hardwiring isn't practical
• Bedrooms and studies lighting a portrait or print above a dresser or desk
• Rentals and apartments - plug-in installation leaves the wall untouched

Not ideal for

• Very large murals or oversized canvases - a 16-inch shade covers roughly the width of a medium framed piece
• Spaces where a visible cord running to an outlet is unacceptable
• Anyone expecting bulbs in the box - they are sold separately

How bright is it?

Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. The fixture takes two 25W or 40W T10 incandescent bulbs, so brightness depends on the bulbs you choose - 25W for a gentle accent wash, 40W for stronger definition on darker artwork.

Light color and feel

Color temperature depends on the incandescent bulbs you install; the manufacturer does not specify a Kelvin rating. Traditional incandescent T10 bulbs give a warm, continuous glow that renders paint and photographic colors naturally. The in-line hi-lo switch lets you step brightness down without a wall dimmer.

Sizing and fit

The shade measures 16 inches wide and extends 5 to 7 inches from the wall, so it clears most frame depths and canvas stretchers. Overall dimensions are 4 in W x 4 in D x 18 in H and the unit weighs 3 lbs. Best suited to standard 8-9 ft ceilings where the light sits above eye level.
