Description
An 84-inch plug-in picture light in white, sized to light a wide canvas or a long row of framed art.
From House of Troy's Slim-line collection, this fixture stretches seven feet of shade across large artwork so the light spreads evenly edge to edge. The white finish blends into light-colored walls and trim, keeping the focus on the art rather than the hardware, and the slim profile suits traditional and transitional interiors.
Best for
- Living rooms and dens with one oversized canvas or a long gallery wall
- Above a fireplace mantel where the art is wider than a standard picture light
- Home offices and libraries lighting a row of framed prints
- Rentals or rooms without overhead wiring - this is a plug-in fixture with a 2-prong cord
Not ideal for
- Small frames or single 16x20 prints - an 84-inch shade will overhang the artwork
- Spaces where you want a hardwired, switch-controlled install; this model plugs in
- Very low ceilings, since the arm projects 8 inches from the wall
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. The fixture uses 16 incandescent 15T4 bulbs (included), and the in-line hi-lo switch steps between two brightness levels rather than dimming smoothly.
Light color and feel
Color temperature is not specified by the manufacturer. Because the bulbs are incandescent, expect a warm, slightly golden tone that flatters oil paintings, warm-toned prints, and wood frames.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 4 in wide x 10 in deep x 86 in high, with an 84-inch shade and 8-inch extension from the wall. At 70 lbs it should be anchored into wall studs or solid blocking. Best suited to rooms with at least 9 ft ceilings and artwork roughly 7 ft wide or wider.
