The Orwell takes its cues from vintage factory lighting: An exposed mechanical swing arm, a rotary switch on the canopy, and a cone shade in a saturated matte yellow. Because it plugs into a standard outlet, you get adjustable task lighting without an electrician. The aged brass has a low-luster satin sheen with a fine brushed texture that reads warm and slightly antique rather than shiny.
