Description
A 5-inch orb wall sconce in natural aged brass with a clear acrylic shade, made for bedroom, hallway, and vanity accent lighting.
The Swank sconce is a crystal-clear acrylic orb trimmed with a natural aged brass band and frosted inside for even light diffusion. The bottom of the orb is dimpled, which throws a small optical highlight and keeps the piece looking like jewelry rather than a plain globe. It mounts as a wall sconce and can also be installed as a flush mount where a small round fixture suits the space.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted beside the bed as a reading or accent sconce
- Hallways and stairwells where a small brass orb adds a warm glow
- Bathrooms with a single vanity, since this fixture carries a damp safety rating
- Powder rooms and dressing areas used as a pair flanking a mirror
Not ideal for
- Outdoor or covered patio use - this fixture is rated for damp locations, not wet
- Large rooms that need a primary light source - at 501 lumens it is an accent fixture
- Buyers wanting a large statement sconce - the orb is only 4.75 in across
How bright is it?
501 lumens - about as bright as a 40W incandescent bulb. Ideal for accent and ambient light beside a bed or along a hallway, not as a primary room light.
Light color and feel
3000K warm white - a soft, golden tone similar to traditional incandescent. CRI is 80+, so colors render naturally. Dimmable with a Triac CL or ELV dimmer, so you can lower it for evening ambience.
Sizing and fit
The orb is 4.75 in wide x 4.75 in high with a 6 in extension from the wall; the backplate is 4.75 in wide x 2 in high and the shade is 3.75 in tall. It weighs 2.64 lbs. Works well in hallways, bedrooms, and bathrooms of most sizes; the 6 in projection suits standard door and mirror clearances.
