Designers Fountain Evensong 16in 1-Light Bell Pendant | Transitional Matte Black and Etched Opal Glass | Kitchen Island & Dining | Model D340M-16P-MB

A 16-inch bell pendant with a layered etched opal glass and metal cage shade, finished in matte black - made for kitchen islands, dining rooms, and foyers that need warm accent light.

The Evensong collection pairs a transitional silhouette with a two-layer shade: a softly glowing etched opal glass diffuser wrapped in a matte black metal cage. The result is a pendant that feels classic without looking dated, and that throws a soft, even light rather than a harsh point source. Matte black keeps it versatile - it reads clean and modern against white kitchens and warm and grounded against wood cabinetry.

Best for

• Kitchen islands and breakfast bars - hang one over a sink or prep area, or space two or three evenly across a longer island
• Dining rooms and eat-in kitchens where you want a single statement pendant over the table
• Foyers and entryways with standard 8-9 ft ceilings
• Bedrooms and dens as a soft, dimmable accent light

Not ideal for

• Rooms where you need the pendant to be the primary light source - one 60W bulb is accent-level brightness, not room-filling light
• Very low ceilings under 8 ft if you plan to use the full 36-inch stem - the pendant hangs 18.75 in tall on its own
• Spaces that need a large-scale fixture - at 15.75 in wide this is a medium pendant, not a grand foyer piece

How bright is it?

Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With one 60W medium-base bulb (not included), expect roughly 800 lumens from a standard incandescent or LED equivalent - about as bright as a single 60W bulb. That is ideal for accent and task lighting over a counter or table, not as the only light in a large room.

Light color and feel

Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose - the fixture itself does not set it. The etched opal glass diffuses the light softly and evenly, so a warm 2700K-3000K bulb will read golden and inviting, while a 4000K bulb will feel crisper and more modern. The fixture is dimmable, so pair it with a compatible dimmer to take it from bright task light down to a low evening glow.

Sizing and fit

Overall dimensions are 15.75 in wide x 18.75 in tall, with a 16 in wide x 18 in tall shade and a 5.25 in wide backplate. The fixture includes a 36-inch stem, so it works well over standard 8-9 ft ceilings with the shade hanging 30-36 in above a countertop or table. Item weight is 10.42 lbs.
