Designers Fountain Astra 14in 1-Light Globe Pendant | Modern Matte Black and Clear Ice Glass | Kitchen Island & Dining Room | Model D343M-14P-MB

A 14-inch globe pendant in matte black with a clear ice glass shade, sized for kitchen islands, dining nooks, and foyers that need a single statement light.

The Astra pendant pairs a smooth matte black frame with a clear ice glass globe - a finish that reads like a soft gradient ombre, catching and diffusing light in a way that plain clear glass does not. It is transitional in style, so it sits comfortably in modern, industrial, and updated traditional interiors without fighting the room. Hardware and instructions ship in the box.

Best for

• Kitchen islands and breakfast bars - hang one over a sink or prep zone, or space two or three evenly for a longer counter
• Dining nooks and small dining rooms where a single 14-inch globe gives focused overhead light
• Foyers and entryways with 9-10 ft ceilings, hung as the first light guests see
• Bedrooms and dens used as a reading or accent light over a chair or side table

Not ideal for

• Rooms where you need broad, even illumination - a single 60W globe is accent light, not a primary room light
• Very low ceilings under 8 ft if you plan to use the full 56.75-inch maximum drop
• Spaces that call for a large-scale fixture - at 14 inches wide this is a medium pendant, not a chandelier replacement

How bright is it?

Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With one 60W medium-base bulb, expect roughly the output of a standard 60W incandescent - enough to light a countertop or dining table directly beneath it, but not enough to brighten a whole room on its own.

Light color and feel

Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose - the fixture is compatible with both incandescent and LED medium-base bulbs. For a warm, inviting kitchen or dining feel, a 2700K-3000K LED is the usual pick; the clear ice glass softens and spreads that light rather than throwing a hard beam.
