Description
A black 2-light outdoor wall sconce for front doors and porches, with clear seeded glass and a traditional lantern silhouette.
The Madrid collection pairs a rich black finish with clear seeded glass for an old-world lantern look that suits traditional and transitional exteriors. The metal frame is built for exterior use, and the seeded glass softens the light into a warm shimmer. Two candelabra bulbs give it a slightly fuller glow than a single-light sconce, which works well flanking a front door.
Best for
- Flanking a front door, one on each side, for a balanced entry
- Covered porches and porticos with traditional or transitional styling
- Garage entries and side doors where a lantern look fits the architecture
- Pairing with the matching Madrid pendant for a coordinated exterior
Not ideal for
- Modern or minimalist facades that call for a clean, unadorned sconce
- Spaces where you need a wide wash of light - this is an accent fixture, not a floodlight
- Installations without an existing junction box, since it is hardwired
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. It takes two 60W incandescent E12 candelabra bulbs, which together give a warm, moderate glow - enough to light a doorway and its steps, not a whole driveway.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you choose; the manufacturer specifies 60W incandescent E12 candelabra bulbs. The clear seeded glass diffuses the light into a soft, warm glow. The fixture is dimmable, so a compatible dimmer lets you lower it for evening ambiance.
Sizing and fit
Overall 4.5 in L x 7.5 in W x 16 in H with a 4.5 in extension from the wall. The 16 in height suits single-story entries and porches; the 4.5 in projection keeps it close to the wall. Weighs 5.5 lbs.
