Description
A 72-inch downrod smart ceiling fan for large indoor and covered outdoor spaces, offering powerful airflow and smart control without a built-in light.
The Spitfire DC Custom combines a Matte White motor with Black Buttonwood blades for a bold, modern contrast. Its 6-speed DC motor moves up to 9,639 CFM, making it ideal for big rooms. While this version does not include a light kit, it is compatible with an optional integrated LED light kit (sold separately) that offers five color temperatures. Control the fan with the included handheld remote or via Wi-Fi fanSync technology.
Best for
- Covered patios and porches, where the damp-rated motor and moisture-resistant blades handle humidity without direct rain exposure
- Great rooms and open-plan living areas with high ceilings, using the included 6-inch or 12-inch downrod
- Bedrooms and home offices where quiet operation and smart control are valued
- Sunrooms and three-season rooms needing powerful air movement
- Laundry rooms and bathrooms with adequate ceiling height, where humidity resistance is a plus
Not ideal for
- Outdoor areas directly exposed to rain or water - this fan is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 feet if you prefer a flush mount for extra clearance
- Spaces needing a built-in light fixture - this model requires a separate light kit
How bright is it?
This fan does not include a light kit, so brightness depends on the optional light kit you add. The compatible 18-watt LED kit produces 1600 lumens, roughly equivalent to a 100-watt incandescent bulb.
Light color and feel
If you add the optional light kit, you can choose from five color temperatures: 2700K (warm white), 3000K (soft white), 3500K (neutral), 4000K (cool white), and 5000K (daylight). With a CRI of 90, colors appear vivid and accurate.
Sizing and fit
This downrod fan has a 72-inch blade sweep and an overall height of 19.69 inches with the included 12-inch downrod. It is designed for flat or slightly sloped ceilings (up to 20°). Optional downrods up to 72 inches are available to achieve the recommended 7-9 foot hanging height.
