Description
A 1-light pendant with a matte black slatted metal shade, ideal for kitchen islands and dining areas seeking a mid-century modern touch.
The Linara pendant by Kichler combines a matte black steel slatted shade with a natural brass accent, creating a look that is both contemporary and vintage-inspired. The open slatted design casts intriguing patterns of light and shadow, making it a distinctive focal point in any room.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 4-6 ft long, hung in a row of two or three for task lighting
- Dining rooms with tables 36-48 in wide, centered above for ambient light
- Entryways and hallways with 8-9 ft ceilings, used as a single statement piece
- Living rooms over a coffee table or side table for accent lighting
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for dry locations only
- Spaces with ceilings under 7 ft due to the 17.75 in height
- Primary room lighting in large open-concept areas - it's best as accent or task lighting
How bright is it?
This pendant accepts one 75W medium-base bulb (not included). With a standard 75W incandescent bulb, it produces approximately 1100 lumens - comparable to a traditional 75W bulb, suitable for task lighting over a kitchen island or ambient light over a dining table. For a softer glow, use a lower wattage or dimmable LED bulb (note: the fixture itself is not dimmable).
Light color and feel
The slatted metal shade directs light downward and outward, creating a focused beam with some ambient spill. The matte black finish minimizes glare. Bulb color temperature is your choice; a 2700K-3000K warm white bulb will complement the brass accents and create a cozy atmosphere.
Sizing and fit
The pendant measures 6 in wide and 17.75 in high. It comes with 36 in of chain and 63 in of wire, allowing hanging lengths up to about 36 in. Ideal for ceilings 8-9 ft; for higher ceilings, additional chain may be needed (not included). The canopy is 5 in diameter.
