Description
A large 1-light outdoor wall sconce for entryways and porches, finished in Olde World Iron with white frosted linen glass.
The Barton's lantern shape is scaled up so it holds its own beside a front door or on a garage wall. Olde World Iron is a dark, hand-rubbed-looking finish that leans traditional, and the white frosted linen glass spreads the bulb into an even, soft glow with no visible hot spot.
Best for
- Front entryways and covered porches, mounted beside the door
- Garage walls and side entries on traditional or craftsman homes
- Exterior columns and pillars that need a substantial lantern
- Pairing in twos or fours along a porch for a matched facade
Not ideal for
- Narrow side doors or tight brick returns - 13 in wide and 15.75 in deep is a big footprint
- Buyers expecting a bulb in the box - it is sold separately
- Low headers where the 19.75 in height would crowd trim
How bright is it?
Takes one medium-base incandescent bulb up to 100W. Actual brightness depends on the bulb - a 100W-equivalent LED gives strong doorway light, a lower-wattage bulb keeps it as a soft accent. The frosted linen glass diffuses output into an even glow.
Light color and feel
Color temperature follows the bulb: 2700K-3000K warm white feels traditional and flattering against brick and wood, while 4000K reads crisper and more modern. Dimmability depends on the bulb and switch used.
Sizing and fit
Measures 19.75 in high x 13 in wide with a 15.75 in extension. Backplate is 13 in H x 9 1/4 in W x 1 3/4 in deep. Best for single-story entries and porches with at least 7 ft of clearance below the mount.
