Description
A 50-inch three-light island light in brushed nickel with satin glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and long dining tables.
The Somerset island light brings a clean, linear silhouette to open kitchens. The brushed nickel frame holds three satin glass shades that diffuse light evenly across a countertop or table, making it a practical choice for task lighting and ambience.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung as the primary light source
- Dining rooms with long rectangular tables
- Open-concept kitchens where the island doubles as a prep and gathering space
- Billiard rooms or game rooms needing focused overhead light
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or outdoor areas - rated for dry locations only
- Small kitchens with islands under 4 feet - the 50-inch width may overwhelm the space
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full hanging length
How bright is it?
Uses three 100W medium-base bulbs (not included). With standard 100W bulbs, expect about 1600 lumens total - enough to light a kitchen island for food prep and casual dining.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs installed. Warm white bulbs (2700-3000K) through satin glass create a soft, even glow that reduces glare. Dimmable with compatible bulbs and dimmer.
Sizing and fit
Measures 50 inches wide; height is adjustable via included chain (canopy 11 in W x 4.5 in H). Weighs 22 pounds. Works well over islands 6-8 feet long; ensure ceiling box is rated for the weight.
