Description
A 29-inch direct-wire LED picture light in satin nickel, designed to illuminate large artwork, gallery walls, and focal pieces with a clean, modern profile.
The Mendon series from House of Troy is built for serious art display. This 29-inch model uses a slim metal shade in satin nickel to direct a warm, high-color-rendering beam across canvases, prints, and photographs without washing out detail. The direct-wire design means no visible cord, making it a natural fit for living rooms, home galleries, and studies where the art is meant to be the star.
Best for
- Living rooms and home galleries with large-scale artwork 30 inches or wider
- Studies and home offices where a clean, cord-free installation is preferred
- Hallways and stairwells displaying a series of framed pieces
- Mantels and built-in shelving that need focused accent light
Not ideal for
- Renters or anyone unable to run direct wiring to the wall location
- Very small frames under 20 inches wide, where a 29-inch shade would overpower the piece
- Bathrooms or outdoor areas, as no damp or wet rating is specified
How bright is it?
720 lumens - roughly comparable to a 60W incandescent bulb, but focused and directional. That is enough to make colors and texture in artwork read clearly without creating glare across the room.
Light color and feel
2700K warm white with a 90 CRI. The warm tone feels close to traditional gallery lighting and flatters oil, acrylic, and wood tones. The 90 CRI means colors render accurately, so reds and blues in a painting stay true rather than looking muddy. Dimmability is not specified by the manufacturer.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 33 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 3 inches high, with a 29-inch shade and a 33 x 2.75 inch backplate. The 29-inch shade suits artwork roughly 30 to 40 inches wide. The 8-inch depth projects the light forward enough to graze the canvas. Designed for 120V US wiring.
