The Niles Clear/Opal features a broad clear glass cylinder with a random bubble pattern and an inner opal cylinder that conceals the light source for a softer, more diffused glow. How bright is it?

Brightness depends on the bulb you choose. This fixture accepts one 60-watt equivalent E26 medium-base bulb (not included). With a standard 60W incandescent, you'll get about 800 lumens - enough for ambient lighting in a small to medium room. The opal inner shade diffuses light, reducing glare and creating a softer glow.

Light color and feel

The opal inner cylinder softens the light, creating a warm, diffused ambiance. The bubble pattern adds visual interest. The bulb's color temperature will determine the feel - a warm white (2700K-3000K) bulb gives a cozy, inviting glow, while a cool white (4000K+) appears more energetic.

Sizing and fit

This flush mount measures 9.5 inches wide and 10 inches high, with a 5.5-inch canopy. It's designed for standard 8-foot ceilings but works well in rooms with ceilings from 7 to 10 feet. Is the bulb included? No, the bulb is not included. You'll need to purchase a standard E26 medium-base bulb separately.

Is it dimmable, and what dimmer should I use? Dimmability depends on the bulb you choose. If you use a dimmable LED or incandescent bulb, you can use a standard dimmer switch. The fixture itself does not have a dimmer built-in.

Can I install this in a bathroom or outdoors? This fixture is rated for damp locations, so it can be installed in bathrooms (away from direct water spray) and covered outdoor areas like porches. It is not rated for wet locations, so avoid direct exposure to rain.

What's the warranty? The manufacturer provides a limited warranty; please check with Besa Lighting for specific terms.

What is the difference between the clear and opal versions? The opal version has an inner frosted cylinder that diffuses light, reducing glare and creating a softer, more even glow compared to the clear version.
