Description
A 28-inch stoneware table lamp for bedrooms, living rooms, and console tables, finished in deep Midnight Blue ceramic with a cream linen hardback shade.
The Scatchard lamp sets an American-made stoneware base under a wide cream linen hardback shade, so it reads as a piece of furniture rather than a generic bedside lamp. The Midnight Blue glaze is a saturated, near-navy tone that plays well against brass, warm wood, and white walls. A three-way socket gives you low ambient light, medium, and full brightness from a single bulb.
Best for
- Primary bedrooms and guest rooms, on a nightstand or dresser as a reading light
- Living room side tables and console tables that need a larger-scale anchor lamp
- Home offices and reading chairs where you want switchable task-to-ambient light
- Traditional, transitional, and coastal interiors built around navy, cream, and natural wood
Not ideal for
- Very small side tables - the 20-inch shade diameter needs a surface at least 22 inches wide
- Spaces where you want a compact accent lamp; this is a full-size statement table lamp
- Anyone expecting the bulb to be included - it is not
How bright is it?
Rated for one 250W three-way medium-base bulb, so brightness depends on the bulb you install. With a three-way LED you can step from a low evening glow to a bright reading level. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer because the bulb is not included.
Light color and feel
Light color is set by the bulb you choose, not the lamp. A 2700K-3000K warm white bulb behind the cream linen shade gives a soft, golden wash that flatters skin tones and warm finishes; a 4000K bulb will read cooler and more clinical. The hardback linen shade diffuses the source and keeps glare off the eyes.
Sizing and fit
Overall 20 in W x 20 in D x 28 in H with a 5-inch base and a 7 x 20 x 14 in shade. At 28 inches tall it lands near eye level on a standard 24-30 inch nightstand, making it a good reading height beside a bed or sofa. Allow clearance for the 20-inch shade when placing it against a wall.
